Sloppy Tots Share Tags: appetizer We sometimes assume that we need fancy foods when guests come over, but sometimes good old sloppy joes and tater tots are the best! I use a mini muffin tin to form a tater tot base for a delicious sloppy joe mixture. It's like bruschetta for the lover of fried food! My muffin tin has 24 cups, and two tater tots will be needed for each cup. Be sure to make adjustments according to your muffin tin. Enjoy!!! Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 45 minutes | Total time: 55 minutes | Servings: 8 3/4 pound(s) of ground beef
1 pound(s) of frozen tater tots
1 tbsp. of olive oil
1/2 cup(s) of ketchup
1/4 cup(s) of mustard
1/2 tsp. of worchestershire sauce
1/4 cup(s) of diced green pepper
2 cloves of garlic, minced
4 ounce(s) of Philadelphia Garden Vegetable Cream Cheese
1/2 cup(s) of shredded cheddar
2 green onions, chopped
Steps
Preheat the oven to 450.
Bake the tater tots on a cookie sheet for 15-18 minutes, until crisp.
Over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef in to olive oil, about 5 minutes.
Add ketchup, mustard, worchestershire, garlic, green pepper, and cream cheese. Stir until the sauce is well combined and the cream cheese has melted through.
Simmer sloppy joe mixture over low heat, 5-8 minutes until sauce has thickened.
When tater tots are crisp, place one tot in the bottom of each mini muffin cup.
Press down on each tot with a spoon to form to the bottom of the muffin cup.
Repeat the process with a second tater tot on top of the first. Press down with a spoon to form to the muffin tin.
Bake for 5 -10 minutes.
Place about a teaspoon of sloppy joe mixture on top of each tater top base.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar on top of the Sloppy Tots.
Bake another 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
Use a fork to pop each Sloppy Tot out of the muffin tin.
Top with green onion and enjoy!
