My Big Fat Apple Buster Share Tags: dessert My husband and I love whole apple desserts. Whether from one of our favorite restaurants or from our grocery store. But as luck would have it the item was discontinued . I can't understand why they would discontinue such a great dessert. As the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it. Any way in order to satisfy our graving ; I gathered all our favorites , apples , cheese, ice cream , caramel , snickers and waffle bowl . And , walla !, I created My Big Fat Apple Buster. You can serve it warm or cold. By omitting the toppings it makes an excellent breakfast treat for even the fussiest of kids. I hope you enjoy this decadent dessert. 1/2 Lemon
6 tbsp. of Butter
1/2 cup(s) of Packed Dark Brown Sugar
1 tbsp. of Water
4 ounce(s) of Plain Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 Can of apple pie filling
1/4 tsp. of Ground Nutmeg
1/2 tsp. of Ground Cinnamon
6 Ice Cream Waffle Bowls
6 Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
1 12oz jar of Caramel Topping
1 Frozen Snickers Candy Bars
Steps
Spray a 8.5x5x3 glass loaf pan with non stick butter spray.
Clean and core apples , leaving bottom in tacked ( if necessary level bottoms of apples ). Cut a little wider opening on apple top for filling. As you core each apple squeeze fresh lemon juice into opening rubbing it to sides.
Take one tablespoon of butter per apple and place inside of each.
Take one packed tablespoon of Dark Brown Sugar and place inside each apple.
Add 1 tbls water to loaf pan. Arrange 2 apples in baking dish with sugar side up . cook in micro wave for 1minute 33 seconds
Remove apples from micro wave oven.With tongs carefully remove apples from loaf pan and set on plate. Repeat step 5 till you have cook all 6 apples.Not necessary to add more water.
In a large a micro wave mixing bowl take each cooled apple and pour melted sugar and butter .
To the butter and brown sugar add 4 ounces of room temperature Philadelphia cream cheese and hand blend.
Next add 1 can of apple pie filling gently folding into cream cheese mixture.
Next add Nutmeg , Cinnamon and blend gently.
Place mixture in micro wave and cook for 2 minutes , stir and continue to micro wave for 1 minute. After 1 minute remove from micro wave .
Now Fill each apple be generous .
Apples are ready for plating. Take frozen Snickers bar and crack by pounding gently; and set aside.Take an ice cream bowl place 1/2 teaspoon of caramel in center. Place one waffle bowl on top of caramel.Next place one apple in waffle bowl .Place one scoop vanilla ice cream on top of apple. Slightly dent ice cream center . Drizzle caramel, and last take Snicker bar pieces and sprinkle over ice cream, serve immediately.
Serving Suggestions: This dessert is hazardous to sharing. Can serve warm or cold. You can also add your favorite rum or liquor to caramel. Makes a great breakfast treat. For 12 apples double recipe. Any left over mixture serve in a waffle bowl and top with any of your favorite toppings or serve as is.
