Philly Pepper Cheese Ball "(plus more)" Share Tags: appetizer week 6, appetizers week 2 I have loved coming up creative Philly Cheese Balls by mixing my favorite spice mixes and salad dressing dry mixes. I stopped at 4 different types of Philly Cheese Ball variations, but there are so many more running around my mind. I could try a new one every weekend. Now for the "(plus more)" after mixing the seasoning you would like for yur cheeseball, use some of the cheese ball mixture to create 2 more appetizers without much effort at all. One of them uses canned crecent rolls and the other roasted veggies topped or stuffed with the Philly Cheese Ball Mixture that you created!!! Be sure to look at steps 13, 14, 15 and 16 for ideas that will hopefully get your creative juices flowing. Have FUN! Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 9 minutes | Total time: 24 minutes | Servings: 8 8 ounce(s) of Philly Cream Cheese
1 ounce(s) of Italian Salad Dressing Mix (dry)
1/2 cup(s) of Chopped Bell Peppers (mix different colors of peppers)
Steps
Put cream cheese, seasoning, and chopped peppers in a Ziploc bag and squeeze the bag around to mix the peppers and seasoning into the cream cheese.
When your cheese is well mixed, cut one of the corners of the bag off to make it into a pastry bag.
Unroll crescent rolls flat and trim to make a triangle from each roll.
Squeeze 1 tsp of cream cheese mixture into the middle of the crescent roll.
Pull the corners up and pinch together to seal
Wisk your egg and cream together and brush the tops of the crescent roll.
Bake on 400 degrees for 9-12 min. or until golden brown.
Next Appetizer
Brush pepper strips with olive oil and roast for 9-12 mins.
Squeeze 1 tsp onto each strip and place under your broiler until cheese melts.
Using the remaining Philly Cream Cheese mixture sqeeze out of bag and form into a ball. This is easier to do if you put it in the freezer for about 10 min. prior to forming the ball.
Serve with your favorite crackers.
**Okay here is the fun part, if Italian spices are not your thing follow the same instructions using dry Ranch dressing adding in crumbled bacon.
**Ready for more fun, if ranch spices are not your thing follow the same instructions using dry Montreal Steak seasoning 2 - 3 tbls adding in mushrooms and scallions.
Celebrate Cinco de mayo by mixing a package of taco seasoning and jalapenos and/or green chilies with 8oz of Philly Cream Cheese. Are you getting the idea now???
Your cheese balls are only limited by your imagination. I love this!!!! Oh how about almonds, chocolate fudge sauce, and marshmallow cream ball. Talk about "Smore Cheese Ball" :)
