Cream Cheese and Chocolate Filled Strawberries
This is an easy yet elegant recipe that is great for any event or party! It combines classic and fresh ingredients to deliver a no fail dessert for any occasion! Prep time: 15 minutes |Cook time: 45 minutes |Total time: 60 minutes |Servings: 12•12 Large Strawberries (Hulled)
•6 ounce(s) of Semi-sweet baking chocolate
•2 cup(s) of fine dark chocolate chips
•8 ounce(s) of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, room temperature
•1 cup(s) of confection’s sugar
•1 tsp. of pure vanilla extract
Steps
1.Start by placing both the semi-sweet squares and the dark chocolate chips in a double boiler (glass bowl placed over a sauce pan of simmering water) Allow the chocolates to melt just until combined.
2.Wash and hull your strawberries and cut out all of the “white” fruit of the strawberry until there is a small cavern. Turn the strawberries upside down and let them dry on a paper towel.
3.Remove the melted chocolate from the double boiler and allow to cool a few minutes while you prepare the filling. Combine the cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar and the vanilla together in a bowl and mix with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and fluffy.
4.Place the strawberries in a mini muffin pan or other snug fitting container and fill them with the cream cheese filling first, about half full.
5.. Spoon the warm chocolate inside the cream cheese filled strawberry and cover completely, it is ok if your chocolate runs over the side. Fill desired amount of strawberries then place them in the refrigerator to cool, at least 15 minutes.
6.Serve the chilled strawberries with remaining cream cheese filling as a decadent dip. Enjoy within a few hours.
