Cherry Cream Cheese Cookie Cobbler
Prep time: 15 minutes |Cook time: 35 minutes |Total time: 50 minutes |

Servings: 6•1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
•1/3 cup(s) of 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
•1/3 cup(s) of sugar
•1 large Egg
•1 tsp. of vanilla extract plus 1/2 teaspoon
•1/4 tsp. of almond extract
•1 (15 ounce) can dark sweet cherries, drained
•1 (21ounce) can cherry pie filling
•1/2 package refrigerated sugar cookie dough ready to bake
•1 non stick cooking spray for baking dish
Steps
1.Preheat oven to 350.Beat cream cheese, sugar, and flour at low speed with an electric mixer; add egg and extracts( reserve 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract), beating until smooth. Set aside.
2.Stir together cherries, cherry pie filling, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla in saucepan, cook over medium heat, stirring often, 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Spoon hot cherry mixture into a lightly sprayed 8x8" square baking dish. Spoon cream cheese mixture evenly over hot cherries.
3.cut sugar cookie dough into 1/2" slices and place on top of cream cheese mixture. approx. 12 slices
4.bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes
5.serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
