The Best Thing "Cake" Ever Share Tags: dessert This is a recipe my Granny has been making for ages. The sweet Philadelphia Cream Cheese topping sits on a crust of cake mix and pecans. It is so easy to make but absolutely delicious!! It literally melts in your mouth. It will be the best thing you have ever eaten! Prep time: 20 minutes | Cook time: 35 minutes | Total time: 55 minutes | Servings: 24 8 ounce(s) of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened (original)
3 Eggs
2 cup(s) of Powdered Sugar
1 Box of Yellow Cake Mix
1 cup(s) of Pecans, chopped
1 Stick of Butter, melted (Good butter as my Granny would say!)
Steps
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine cake mix, 1 egg, the pecans and the melted butter until mixed well. Spread into an even layer in a greased and floured 9"x13" baking pan. (You can use parchment paper in the pan instead of butter and flour. This makes it extremely easy to remove.)
Mix Philadelphia cream cheese, 2 eggs and powdered sugar until smooth. A hand mixer works great! Pour mixture on top of cake mix and pecan crust.
Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes until it is golden brown on top and cooked through. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Slice into little bars and serve. ENJOY!!!!
